Dragons Heart by Marly Mathews

4 Stars.

A pleasure to read.
Dragons Heart is a sweet and tender love story about two people who find each other at a time when their world as they know it is being torn apart by a violent civil war. Grania a beautiful half/dragon half/human princess is sent to protect the wizard Dylan who's magical spell may hold the key to saving their world. And in the process finds herself unwillingly falling in love with the sometimes annoying but very sexy wizard...

This is a complex and interesting tale about a violent and at the same time very fascinating world. And is sure to appeal to anyone who enjoys stories of magic, wizards, shape shifters and a love to last a lifetime.

With Dragonia torn by civil war and the rebels winning the fight, it was only a matter of time before the dragon shifters focused on earth in their determination to take back what mankind had taken from them centuries before. The wizard Dylan Lightfoot was their only hope, the only capable of conjuring the spell they needed to defeat the rebels, and it was Grania’s duty to defend him at whatever cost.

She hadn’t suspected what it would cost her, though, would never have believed she would find her soul mate to be a wizard, not one of her kind.

Dragons Heart is available now by New Concepts Publishing.

Thigh High by Christina Dodd

5 Stars!!!

Christina Dodd's "Thigh High" is a fast paced page
turner! I read this in record time considering I am having one of my
busiest weeks ever with my business. I picked it up every chance I got.
Christina's
characters are wonderfully quirky, delightfully dysfunctional and
lovable to their cores. Mac and Nessa are one of the best book-couples
I have read about in contemoprary fiction in a long time! The winding
plot roads of this book kept me on edge and eagerly wanting more.
The
description of post-Katrina New Orleans and its Mardi Gras are spot on
and I felt as though I had visited the 'Big Easy' after I finished.
Absolutely wonderful and highly recommended for your summer reading list!

Rachel E. Moniz

Nessa Dahl always had the good sense to steer clear of trouble. Then Jeremiah MacNaught showed up in New Orleans, determined to get to the bottom of a string of bank robberies by two women wearing Mardi Gras masks. Little does Nessa realize that the handsome investigator is convinced she's involved with the crimes-or that he's willing to do anything to get the truth. Even if it means taking the beautiful woman he's convinced is a liar and a thief straight to bed...

The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter

5 Stars...

A recommended read...

After centuries alone Anya, the beautiful Goddess of Anarchy and Lucien the cursed half-demon known as Death meet striking sparks off each other that would almost set the pages of your book on fire...

I found The Darkest Kiss to be a fast and fun read that was even better than the first book. All of the characters in the book are extremely interesting and
Lucien and Anya who are a perfect match for each other are no exception. Sure at times Anya seems a little silly and frivolous but anyone who has ever read Greek and Roman Mythology would know that the author is dead on in her interpretation of her personality. The Gods and Goddesses were always portrayed as being silly and childish but at the same time they could also be deadly if crossed.

The Lords Of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter is my newest guilty pleasure...

She has tempted many men… but never found her equal.

Until now.

Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death—a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him.

But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining.…

Doorway To The Stars by Marly Mathews

4 Stars...

Earth, 3000 AD.
After finding herself on the losing side of a tragic civil war that has plunged the Earth back into a time that most sane people would never want to repeat. Freya a former rebel, finds that the only job left open to her is that of a tour guide. While leading a tour on the colony Willowbane Freya is kidnapped by the warrior Aries who is planning an overthrow of Earth's government in retaliation for their insidious attack on his people several years ago...

I found Doorway To The Stars to be a fascinating and thought provoking story that will linger in your mind long after the story is finished. In fact I think that this story could probably use a sequel! The characters are extremely likable, the world building is very interesting, and the chemistry between the two main characters, Aries and Freya is scorching hot...

Freya Kirkland is a veteran of the last great war that was waged across Earth and its many planets that it has colonized. The new government has been in power for ten years now, and Freya is still struggling to come to terms with the strange new world Earth has become. Thrust back into an archaic age where slavery and other barbaric practices are now in use, she must fight just to get through another day.

Rumors of Outlanders that have infiltrated the star traveling system start to run rampant throughout Earth's many media outlets. Knowing that she must continue her job as a tour guide, she knowingly places herself in danger just so she can continue to earn her much needed paycheck. Her world is turned upside down when she meets Gaian Warrior, Aries D'Halen. Will their love be able to mend a broken world and lead her people and his people into a bright future for all?

Predatory Game by Christine Feehan

4.5 stars...
Predatory Game is book six of the ghost walker series about a group of almost at times super-human warriors. Whose abilities were enhanced by Dr.Whitney an evil genius trying to create the perfect soldier.

I found it to be a very enjoyable read and well worth waiting for . The plot is still really interesting in spite of the fact that this story has already been done, several times in fact. Like the other ghost walker stories it's filled with lot's of action and adventure, romance and suspense along with a little hot sex sex thrown in.

Unlike some of the previous stories this one does focus more on the developing relationship between Jess, a ghostwalker who was injured on a previous mission and can no longer walk. But still manages to be a force to be reckoned with when under attack . And Saber, who is one of the orphan girls that Dr. Whitney first used in his experiments. Sabre has one of the most deadly skills ever seen in a ghostwalker, she can kill with a touch. Something that makes the other ghostwalkers more than a little leery around her. I found the author to be accurate in her portrayal of Sabre who is very likable but at times seems a little young and childish. Which when you think about it is to be expected, after all she didn't have the typical upbringing. She was isolated and used from a very young age as an assassin and that's not exactly conductive to learning social skills...

Saber Wynter is running from her past when she meets ex-Navy SEAL and Ghostwalker Jess Calhoun. But the riddles of both their pasts are about to collide, shattering the promise of their future with the ultimate betrayal.

For Kicks by Jenna Bayley-Burke

I give it 4.5 stars.

I found For Kicks by Jenna Bayley-Burke to be a charming, and lively read about two of the most interesting and engaging characters that I've read about in a very long time..........

He's about to show her...

On the management fast-track, Breeze Cohen has no time for family. No interest in love. No inclination toward romance, lust, dating-or anything that doesn't include retail business strategy and cornerstone client Nitrous' most important product launch ever. No way is she going to let a live-for-the moment, life-is-only-about-fun guy like Logan Chandler tarnish her professional reputation and derail her career.

...his plan for her isn't just for kicks.

Recovered from a near-fatal bus accident, Logan has successfully moved from professional athlete to key player for Nitrous Kicks athletic shoes. Only one woman is capable of managing his project the right way, but the proper kind of management will take time together. And that's exactly what Logan Chandler is counting on to help him get close to her heart and stay close-if he can ever catch up with her.

For Kicks is scheduled
to be released March 1, 2008

Unbreakable by Sydney Somers

I give it five stars.

Unbreakable by Sydney Somers is a fantastic action filled story, in the tradition of Buffy The Vampire Slayer that I found almost impossible to put down. The chemistry between the main characters as well as the secondary ones is outstanding.
When the story first starts Jordan and her partner / lover Gage are brutally attacked by a war demon and in the process the fatally injured Gage ends up dying in her arms.
Fast forward five years into the future, Jordan is still a cop by day but by night she's an ass kicking demon slayer with an attitude! So imagine her anger and hurt when she discovers that Gage didn't really die that night. Instead he's stayed away for the last five years in a misguided attempt to protect her from the shadow demons that she hunts and slays every night.

This book is definitely a keeper. If you love stories about demons, heroes, hot sex and a great love that won't be denied then you are sure to love Unbreakable.

Unbreakable Shadow Destroyers Book One.
Jordan McAdam leads an unusual double life. Police Officer by day, vigilante by night. But Jordan isn't interested in the average criminal, She stalks Shadow Demons, creatures who prey on the innocent, creatures whom she suspects are responsible for a string of bizarre sacrificial murders. Creatures who killed her partner and lover.

Gage Campbell has spent the last few years on a elite team of Shadow Destroyers, hunting down the demons who changed his life-and his DNA. Then an assignment leads him straight back to the woman he hasn't been able to stop thinking about for five long years. The woman he had no choice but to leave behind.

Is the man before her a mimic demon bent on tormenting her, or is it Gage returned from the dead? All Jordan knows is that the raging desire between them is real. Standing between them are years of secrets and hurt, and a love that just might have the power to bring them together. If the murder case they're working on doesn't separate them ...permanently.

The Boxer And The Poet Something Of A Romance by James Thayer

I give it five stars *****

The Boxer And The Poet
Something Of A Romance by the prolific author James Thayer is a fantastic and fast paced adventure filled with so many interesting and fascinating characters. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end, wondering what will happen next. The chemistry between the weary battle scared boxer Dennis and the beautiful socialite Isobel is mesmerizing. If you've enjoyed James Thayer's books in the past then this one, his first but hopefully not his last attempt at a romance will delight you. I found this book almost impossible to put down and James Thayer has a brand new fan in me.

Locked in a desk for decades, a lost poem destined to bring together the unlikeliest of partners...

He'd been wrecked but good this time. At thirty-four, down-and-out boxer Dennis Jones is loveless, motherless, penniless and directionless. When he opens his eyes after a particularly brutal fight, he sees a raven-haired, blue-eyed demon in the guise of an angel. What she wants to do to his life is laughable, insane... Yet what does he have to lose?

New Orleans Garden District socialite and poetry professor Isobel Autry needs a fighter. One who will do what she wants with no questions asked. Someone who can cut through the obstacles between her and Edgar Allen Poe's last, undiscovered great work.

Weaving through ancient secret society rites, boxing rings, the New Orleans underbelly and right back to high society, Dennis and Isobel embark on a quest to revamp his life, find the poem and possibly discover each other. If make it- it'll be close.
